Unmarked Grave at the Former Kamloops Residential School
This weekend, the bodies of 215 children were found in an unmarked grave at the former Kamloops Residential School. The discovery is heartbreaking and devestating. Thousands of Indigenous children were taken from their parents and subjected to the horrors of Residential Schools. Families were broken apart, and lives were stolen.
We at CMPJ stand with the Tk’emlups te Secwépemc nation, and with all Indigenous peoples. We call for meaningful action, including the implementation of the TRC’s calls to action. The time for words is over. We must act now.
