    Nader Hashemi, PhD. Director of the Center for Middle East Studies and Associate Professor of Middle East and Islamic Politics at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver.

    The debate on Islam and human rights is 50 years old. During this time a vast literature has analyzed the relationship between the religion of Islam, Muslim societies and international human rights norms. Dr. Hashemi focused on what we have learned in the past five decades of global debate on Islam and human rights.
